Hi. Hello. Howdy-doo. Sup. Yo.
Hi. Hello. Howdy-doo. Sup. Yo.
My name is Ann Putney.
I’m an Art Director based out of Kansas City, Missouri.
I graduated from Ringling College of Art + Design with a BFA in Advertising Design, soaking up all the sunshine (and humidity) Florida had to offer. Eventually, the West Coast called — loudly — so I packed my Subaru and headed to Santa Monica, where I spent the next nine years sharpening my creative talent. Los Angeles became my classroom, teaching me how to art direct across the spectrum: fast-paced agencies, scrappy start-ups, a global live entertainment company, and even a studio lot. It’s where I learned to enjoy life, think faster, and dream bigger.
When the world hit pause in 2020, I hit reset — returning home to Kansas City, where the BBQ sauce flows like wine and Sunday football borders on spiritual. It’s here that I’ve found my rhythm.
I believe the best creative work comes from living a full, curious life — one fueled by art, culture, music, and food that surprises you. As an art director, I see design as a language that connects people — a way to turn abstract ideas into something you can feel.
And honestly? I’ll never stop being grateful that I get paid to dream out loud.
